genre-bending artpop/electronica
In their blend of alt pop and electronica, artist-producer BRDN (pronounced burden), combine powerful synth-structures and dreamy guitars with soft vocal sequences and driving beats. Superimposed vocals in different vocal colours lay over the music like a broken yet beautiful veil. Woven soundscapes take the listener to the dark side of introspection: self-doubt and the golden hunt for a purpose melt into musical fever dreams with room for interpretation.
Partly produced in the studio and partly in the bedroom, BRDN has been releasing songs as an indie artist since 2022. The debut EP “Ascension”, was released in spring of 2023.
In fall 2023, the artist showcases another facet of their work, with the release of the fan favourite ‘To Wait’ and the hiphop infused indietronica track ‘Sweeter’.
Following that, the release of the slow-paced ‘Burrow’ in January 24 and the intimate chamber pop ballad ‘Feather’ in March of the same year, again highlight the songwriters ability, to effortlessly jump between genres, without loosing the core qualities of the project.
In the first half of 2024, BRDN expanded their discography further with release the guitar heavy indiepop song “Number 9”, danceable indietronica song “Underneath” and “Shadows”, a contemporary electronic production borrowing elements from melodic techno and deep house.
Live-performances, usually presented as a three piece band including drums and powerful female backing harmonies, are “fragile & genuine” and open a direct window into the artist’s inner workings.
